Cantab Asset Management had the privilege of being the headline sponsors for the historic Cambridge University vs. Steele-Bodger XV rugby match on 23 November 2016. This year marked the 69th annual fixture between the two sides, with the match traditionally serving as CURFC’s final warmup before the prestigious Varsity match.

Micky Steele-Bodger (aged 92) attended the match and, pictured above with Cantab’s Chief Executive David Saunderson, watched the University Captain Daniel Dass issue the traditional challenge to the Oxford University rugby team to meet them for the Varsity match at Twickenham on 8 December.

A packed crowd at Grange Road witnessed an extremely competitive encounter. Cambridge held a slender 21-19 lead at half-time, before rallying to score five second half tries in an ultimately impressive 52-26 victory against a star-studded team which included both Samoan and Canadian internationals.

Cantab Asset Management extends our congratulations to all those involved in a terrific day and wishes CURFC the best of luck for the upcoming Varsity match.
