Cantab Asset Management is delighted to be the headline sponsors for the historic rugby match between the Cambridge University RUFC and the M.R. Steele-Bodger XV. The match takes place at Grange Road, Cambridge on Wednesday 22 November at 3pm.
The match was inaugurated in 1948 by Michael Roland “Micky” Steele-Bodger CBE, a graduate of Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge and former rugby Varsity player who went on to play for Harlequins, England and the Barbarians. He is currently the President of the Barbarian Football Club and President of the East India Club, London. Steele-Bodger since 1948 has been responsible for assembling a team from players at sides across the country to play against Cambridge University RUFC as a warm-up to the Varsity Match. Last year the annual match saw Cambridge University win an impressive victory of 52-26 against M.R. Steele-Bodger XV. 2017 marks the 70th annniversary of this special fixture.
